What is a fun fact about you (that has nothing to do with analytics?)
I once met Bjork in a recording studio in New York City.
What’s your favorite book and why?
Franny and Zoey by JD Salinger. It’s about existentialism in a sad, funny way from the view point of an eccentric New York family. It includes two somewhat separate stories that were first published in the New Yorker in the 1950s. It’s only 201 pages long, so you should read it if you want to be cool.
How did you get into analytics/engineering/etc.?
I’ve worked in analytics my entire career in some capacity or another. First I worked in the finance industry, then in retail and e-commerce, and now I’m in consulting. Math, creativity and answering questions is built into my DNA.
Who is your role model?
Jack Donaghy is my role model.
What is something you learned recently?
I learned that I really like graphic novels. I’m a big reader, but never got into comic books when I was a kid. Two years ago, I was in San Francisco on a business trip and wandered into a comic book store to look for a gift for my kids. I ended up with a few things for myself and have been binging on graphic novels since.
